- Description:Small fruit bat with short, blunt muzzle; 2 upper and 2 lower incisors; distinctive pale band of fur along surface of the forearm. Adult males have glands on each side of the neck that produces a dark orange oily substance staining the fur around it.
- Ecological Role:A frugivore that acts as a seed disperser. It may also be a pollinator as they may depend on flowers during certain parts of the year. It also serves as a prey item for other animals.
- Distribution:Endemic to the Philippines; widespread, except Camiguin, Palawan, and Batanes/Babuyan faunal regions.
