{"id":917,"date":"2021-09-16T11:59:32","date_gmt":"2021-09-16T11:59:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.projwebdb.com\/kaigangan\/?p=917"},"modified":"2023-06-22T22:26:08","modified_gmt":"2023-06-22T22:26:08","slug":"short-course-on-biodiversity-assessment-and-monitoring","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.projwebdb.com\/kaigangan\/2021\/09\/16\/short-course-on-biodiversity-assessment-and-monitoring\/","title":{"rendered":"Short Course on Biodiversity Assessment and Monitoring"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The CONserve-KAIGANGAN Project 1 conducted two batches of training on biodiversity assessment and monitoring at the Institute of Biological Sciences, University of the Philippines Los Ba\u00f1os.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first training was held on June 22-25, 2019, which was attended by professionals from the Ecosystems Research and Development Bureau (ERDB), new graduates from the University of the Philippines Diliman, and instructors from the Philippine Science High School &#8211; Eastern Visayas Campus (PSHS-EVC). Meanwhile, the second batch of training was conducted last September 16-19, 2019, which was participated by students of De La Salle University Dasmari\u00f1as.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" data-id=\"918\" src=\"https:\/\/www.projwebdb.com\/kaigangan\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/image.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-918\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.projwebdb.com\/kaigangan\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/image.jpeg 400w, https:\/\/www.projwebdb.com\/kaigangan\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/image-300x225.jpeg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The four-day short course consisted of the following activities: an introductory lecture on biodiversity; fieldwork on grassland and forest ecosystems within the UPLB campus to learn the assessment and monitoring techniques on-site; presentation of the results and analysis of the biodiversity assessment data by the participants, and a final lecture on the importance and relevance of the methods and techniques taught throughout the span of training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This training was headed by Dr. Inocencio E. Buot, Jr., Program Leader of the CONserve-KAIGANGAN, and assisted by Asst. Prof. Marjorie D. delos Angeles, Project Staff L2, Mr. Paul John S. Tolentino and Ren Divien R.
